EvoRoads (Evolution of Road Infrastructure Towards Automation and Carbon Neutrality) is a European research project focused on developing innovative solutions for road infrastructure to support automated driving and contribute to carbon neutrality. The project runs from 2024 to 2027 and is funded under the Horizon Europe framework.
The initiative aims to develop new methodologies for road infrastructure adaptation that will effectively support automated driving while creating solutions for carbon-neutral road infrastructure. Through its comprehensive approach, the project will design and validate innovative materials and construction techniques, implementing pilot demonstrations in real conditions.
One of the key deliverables will be the establishment of guidelines for future road infrastructure development, ensuring that Europe's roads are prepared for the challenges of automation and environmental sustainability.
The project brings together expertise from various stakeholders to create a more efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced road network across Europe.
