Applus+ IDIADA obtains 8 European R&D projects in 2023 and consolidates its leading position in integrated safety

While the European average for the award of projects is around 15%, Applus+ IDIADA has a ratio of 61%. During 2023, the European Commission awarded Applus+ IDIADA a total of 8 R&D projects, several of them focused on the validation of ADAS and the development of human models, an area in which the company is consolidating its leadership position.

Among the most emblematic projects is IMPROVA, coordinated by Applus+ IDIADA, which will develop a tool to predict the probability of suffering injuries with long-term consequences derived from traffic accidents. A network that will include NCAPs, entities from the USA, Australia and Asia, as well as a group of medical experts and psychologists, will form part of the consortium.

In addition, the SYNERGIES project will work to create a European platform designed to improve the development, testing, and validation of autonomous mobility systems. 33 partners are part of the project, including Renault, Stellantis, BMW, ZF, etc.

Battery management and accessible mobility

The main objective of INNOBMS is to develop an intelligent battery management system that maximizes battery utilization and performance without negatively affecting battery life, even under harsh conditions.

In the field of mobility, DIVERSIFY, an initiative to study the different social realities that influence the acceptance and use of automated vehicles in urban and rural environments, stands out. Applus+ IDIADA will collaborate with the Tarragona Provincial Council in the analysis of its rural environment.

Applus+ IDIADA will invest more than 3 million euros of its own funds in R&D projects in 2024, a figure that confirms its innovative vocation and its commitment to offering high added-value services to clients.
